Art & Design
Based in Rome, Paola Hofmann is a designer and artist whose practice sits between collectible design and sculptural research. Her work explores objects as spatial presences, with a particular focus on the relationship between form, material, and light.
She trained at the Liceo Artistico in Via Ripetta and went on to earn a degree in Communication and Marketing as well as a degree in Product Design, building a path that integrates design vision with technical expertise.
A cultural trip to Australia, during which she took part in workshops on woodworking and metalworking, strengthened her hands-on approach to materials and to the production process.
After several experiences in design studios, she felt the need to develop an autonomous language oriented toward a more authorial dimension.
This phase marked the beginning of an independent practice grounded in formal research and process-driven experimentation.
Deeply connected to the tradition of making, Hofmann works closely with suppliers and artisans, personally overseeing the prototyping stages. Direct engagement with materials is a fundamental part of her design method.
Her research focuses on lighting as an architectural and atmospheric element. Through essential forms and carefully calibrated light, her works aim to create spaces of intimacy and relationship, going beyond the purely functional dimension of furniture.
Each piece is conceived to last over time and to establish a conscious dialogue with space and with those who choose it. From her studio in Rome, Paola Hofmann develops an independent practice that combines rigor, material quality, and formal control.
Federica Hofmann is an architect based in Rome. Her design practice develops between spatial research, attention to materials, and sensitivity to light, elements she considers fundamental in the construction of architectural experience.
After an artistic education and studies in architecture, she developed a design approach that combines conceptual vision and technical precision.
Her work originates from the observation of places and from the desire to create spaces capable of establishing an authentic dialogue with their context and with those who inhabit them.
During her professional experiences, she has explored the different phases of the design process, from the initial idea to technical development, developing a strong interest in the relationship between design, construction, and the quality of materials.
Her research focuses on architecture as a spatial and sensory experience.
Through an essential language and particular attention to light and detail, her projects aim to create environments capable of generating balance, intimacy, and connection.
From her studio in Rome, Federica Hofmann develops a design practice that combines rigor, material sensitivity, and formal control.
